A guy at uni has shown some interest in me and talks to me very often. We never spoke until he started to during a break in lecture. Anyway, we get along but of late he's begun to make really backhanded comments about my appearance. For example, he'll say "you're really pretty but your eyes are a tiny bit far apart." I'd laugh it off and call him a dick or something to lighten the mood but he's been saying such things fairly often. It's getting a bit tiring and I've told him this. What could be up with him? Why does he feel the need to compliment me then take it back with an insulting add on?
