Hey, just throwing this one out there :p
I'm trying to form an Asexual Colony (coughgroupcough) on here because it can get difficult feeling like you're broken, having sex and relationships thrown in your face all the time and the unkind remarks. Being told "you're too young to know what you want/ you're a late bloomer". I know I'm not the only one on here ^_^
What is asexuality?
Asexuality where individuals do not experience feelings of sexual attraction. We may feel romantically attracted, though, and seek romantic relationships with a fellow asexual or a sexual person.
What asexuality isn't.
Asexuals can experience these but alone they do not indicate asexuality as sexuals have them too:
A low libido/sex drive - some of us masturbate!
Repulsion or fear towards sex.
A group of people who can't get people to have sex with them - as said before, some of us have relationships and sex. I've personally met some very beautiful asexuals.
A mental illness - as with any group of people, some asexuals do have MIs but they were asexual before the MI developed.
The inability to become aroused.
Celibacy, chastity or abstinance.
I'm personally an Aromantic Asexual meaning I don't experience romantic or sexual attraction. It isn't as lonely as people seem to think, think of it as everybody I come across being permanently "friendzoned."
If anyone thinks they may be asexual, I'd be very happy to discuss it via PM if you need to talk. I'm hoping though we can get some sort of support/chat group running. If any non-asexuals want to know more, I'd be glad to help there too.
