| Hello, hope this is the most appropriate thread for this. Some background information I'm female and 19, starting at university this year. I suffer from some sever bouts of depression and I a also suffer from social anxiety and can get very anxious, nervous and stressed at new situations. This is not just me being a bit nervous and a social wimp I am hoping uni will be a fresh start for me and it may help me get over these issues, but does anyone have any advice on how make friends or how to approach people and start conversations? This is not something I'm used to and I don't want to blow my chance and end up sat in my room on my own for the rest of the academic year :p Oh also before you suggest I try drinking to ease my stress I cannot drink or at least can drink very little on my medication so please don't suggest that, I'm also not a fan of drinking anyway being drunk is not at all fun.
