Want to kiss my female friend ... confused

I have this female friend whom i've been spending a fair bit of time with recently (just generally) and for some reason i've been getting urges to want to kiss her, i should add that we arn't romantically involved, despite almost every mutual friend thinking that we are (prob just the way we act, we even had a complete stranger think we were dating) I wanna ask her, but me and her are just friends and there is something about her that makes me a little hesistant about asking her, i should add that i don't plan on getting into a relationship with her (we both know we are friends and that's prob all it will be), however when people keep saying it, you start contemplating it. Thing is i have no idea wheather this feeling is normal, i'm 20 and only been kissed by one person (that is the girl who i have deep feelings for, but has a boyfriend (that is a different story) so i really have no expierance in this field) We know each other well, she is one of those girls that is very blunt most if not all the time I should add, that neither of us have any kind of romantic feelings for each other, this is why i'm rather confused, weird thing to say but i also dreamt about us kissing a few nights ago
