Why would my ex invite me to an event on FB when we've had no contact for 4 months?

A couple of days ago he invited me to a Facebook event for a special occasion. I was surprised to see his name on my notifications but I just let it go thinking that it didn't mean anything and he probably invited all of his Facebook friends anyway. I looked, expecting to find the 400+ people from his friends list, but I saw he only invited about 15 people: his family, his group of best friends, and a few work friends... and me. I probably should just forget about this but I can't help but wonder why he invited me when it has been so long since we've spoke. He almost feels like a stranger to me now.
