Is he using me?

Hi, me and my boyfriend have been 'officially' dating for around a month. We met in a club around 3 months ago and started sleeping together a few weeks later. We were both virgins before we met, but there was great chemistry between us and it felt right to be more intimate. Anyway, we split up before xmas, as he said he didn't want commitment and a 'proper' girlfriend. I was upset but we made up and started dating officially when we came back for lent term. Everything has been great, and i have really strong feelings for him, but the other night he mentioned in passing that we'd probably split up before summer, saying the distance would be too much for us, and that we're too young. I was a bit miffed that he was planning our break up already, and some friends have said that they think he's using me for sex and always has been. It's true that we've never been on an official date in the conventional sense, but we spend a lot of time hanging out and chatting. I don't know what to do, friends have advised me to dump him, but i can't imagine my life without him and i'm confused. Do you guys think he's using me? the sex has improved and i feel a connection but i'm really not sure if it's more about the sex for him and not 'me'.
