Wait for my doctor to call or go to the hospital?

So, I am 43. I had a period in July of 2011, again in April 2012 and on June 8th of this year I started spotting. I am still spotting and today I passed a few clots.....sorry for the tmi. Last year a biopsy was done on my uterus and was clear. I am having some major cramping, my lower back is killing me and pain is radiating down my right leg. The pain isn't unbearable but, it is making me extremely uncomfortable. I called my gyno earlier today but, she wasn't in today. I am supposed to get a call back tomorrow. I am kind of freaking out but, some friends have said this is normal. I'm not sure, I thought I was going through menopause but, now I am not sure. Thoughts?
