Question about putting information out there?

Without really reading all the website guidelines, how bad an idea is it to say the town you live in, and maybe start a "meeting time" so people in your community or even from this website can possiblely meet and talk? Not as a new dating website, but a place/time you can get out of the house and make new friendships?
