Dilemma... Ex and a laptop.

After the break-up. I received my laptop back off my ex;

  • he had swapped the hard-drive and put it into his laptop, then put it back, now it's not working.
  • When replacing something he used screws that were "too big" and now there's two screw sized holes in the casing above the keyboard (what kind of muppet doesn't know to use the right size screws?
  • He dropped 'something' by the back when it was open (he admitted this, seemingly that would be the battery as it now doesn't work without plugging it in.
  • Finally, he used screws that were "too big" and pushed through where the keyboard is, so the keyboard (that should just clip in) now doesn't clip in, in the middle.

So here's my dilemma, i can get this fixed but clearly it's going to cost, and i don't believe that i should be forking out the costs for his mistakes. However, it seems a little bit childish to be making him pay for it, mostly because at the tender age of 27 he lives with his mum who does everything from his cooking, cleaning, folding his underwear to making his high school musical bed! A part of me thinks i'm just doing it to teach him that everything won't go his way and he has to grow up sometimes.

I'm not bothered about having him back and what him to pay for what he did, i'm insanely glad he's gone. That's the other part of it, i'm not sure i can deal with the hassle of dealing with him, he is a huge idiot and part of me wants to just leave him so i don't have to talk to him again. But i don't see why i should pay to fix this!

To make him pay, or not to pay? That is the question. Revenge or justified? What do you guys think i should do?
