Girlfriend and I on break, should I look for rebound sex?

My girlfriend split up with me recently and we both agreed that we both still loved each other but she couldn't handle a relationship right now in her life. She also hinted that in a few months time we should/could pick up where we left off. I of course was very upset and still am, the most frustrating thing is I want to be with her still and for me it isn't over between us. However, I have been considering looking for a "rebound" (this was suggested to me by a friend as a way of getting over the relationship). Should I look for someone to have sex with or does this count as cheating?
