I mean lies in general that I'm sure we all have told to someone. I'm not just referring to someone that's a cheater and lies to his/her partner. It can also be lying about something to your parents or a friend. After all a lie is a lie.
This is my story about my lie
When I was then 19, I've lied to parents by not be totally honest about all my grades on my past psychology major and letting my father continue paying. I passed most courses but I got lazy and there were like 4 that I failed or simply wanted to drop out of a class. With the use of technology, when my father demanded the grades I could easily print the academic record and copy and paste those few grades. I then quitted college for a while for additional reasons and till this day, they never found out about this.
Present-day:
I've been back to school since 2011 and only need 1 year to finish my major (it's related to business administration and hotel management). Though this time I'm paying for my courses. I'll finally be done at the age of 28. This is the only thing I never plan on telling them about, esp not my father, not even once I'm done.
I just feel more prepared and ready for what I want in life now than in my younger years and haven't failed a single course in this major (not just that but I got a higher GPA). Now I do feel some guilt over that lie and making him waste money in the past but I guess this is the one lie that will always be hidden.
In addition, after finishing this major I actually do plan on returning to the the psychology major too (I now find it more interesting than back then) and finish where I left off. I'll be paying for it myself too.
In the end I guess I'm making it up to him without him ever knowing it. Though I do feel some guilt about it from time to time.
