Ok, it was either TAM or my physician and Dr. Quack is not on call this week so... Plus if I ask this question in a bicycle enthusiast board it's likely I'll be :rofl::rofl: so...
I'm 54, 20-25 lb overweight, and started bicycling 5 miles a day on a comfortable hybrid bicycle (Specialized) with a pretty comfy seat. After 5 miles (20-25 min, leisurely pace) various, ehem, private parts of the anatomy are numb. :scratchhead:
It takes a few min for the numbness to subside. Should I opt for a wider seat, more padding, or what? I have no problem doing 5 miles or anything but it's really annoying to have to suffer a, ehem, decompression period  I do not believe the seat is padded with the magical gel-padding.
Any suggestions?
