I do not seem to be as important/attractive to my girlfriend as she is to me?

  • Thread Starter

I (a male) have been seeing a girl for a few months.

We seem to be perfectly compatible in almost every way. I am madly attracted to her and we both seem to have the best time around each other.

A lot of my close friends are in relationships, and this is where my problem lies. All my close friends seem to have very loving girlfriends who constantly tell them that "you are the best boyfriend ever", "you are the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen"; they tend to inundate their Facebook profiles with pictures of their boyfriend.

I realise how needy I must be coming across at this point.

I am not one for constant superlatives - but what is the point of being in a serious relationship if you are not the most (if not one of the most) important/attractive person in that person's eye?

In fact, I admitted to her the other day that I think she is one of the most beautiful people i've ever seen, at which point she just completely ignored the comment! Whilst at the same time, she has made comments one of her male friends is the 'best dressed person she knows' and other comments to that effect.

I am mostly not an insecure person - so I can't put it down on insecurity. She's just made it so apparent that I don't really seem to be the most/one of the most important/attractive person in her life.

Should I look for someone who cherishes me as much as I cherish them?
