Between my exam revision, I kind of got thinking. As guys are generally the ones who approach girls and ask them out (and most girls still expect them to unfortunately), there ends up with a situation where most guys don't know what it's like to be desired or wanted by a girl.
If a guy doesn't take the initiative with girls, then he will probably be single for a while. So even though a guy may have had lots of girlfriends over his life, he had to woo all those girls over. None of them liked him enough to show desire for him. He was the one who always had to be the desirer, not the desiree.
Every human being likes to feel wanted, right? But in the typical situation where the guy has to do all the asking out, the guy will never feel wanted by the girl. For all the sensitive/hyper-sensitive guys out there, this can be an extremely depressing thought.
When the girl is most horny (just before her period), you could even argue that she doesn't want you as a person, all she wants is sex (because her biological cycle says she should be impregnated at that time of the month when she is ovulating).
Am I making sense here? :o
Put the internet to work for you.
