I'm a 19 year old male. I was just browsing on Grindr, not really looking for anything. This guy started speaking to me and he seemed really funny and cute. He asked me out and I said that I'd be willing to see him if he gave a time and place.
Then he said to me that he was in fact only 17. He asked me if it bothered me. I said that it's not as if he's under the age of consent but that Grindr rules say that he shouldn't have a profile; so it would be unwise to use Grindr to meet up with him. He seemed to agree and he blocked me on the app. But not before he'd given me his Twitter and snap chat name... so I could still contact him.
Now I have very little moral inhibitions about finding a 17 year old guy attractive (perhaps some would disagree about that). I'm only 19 myself and I've known such an age gap to have very little impact on dating at that age. But ultimately we did meet through a medium that he shouldn't have been involved in. Therefore would it be wrong (and potentially dangerous) to have any sort of contact with him?
