I moved abroad to live with my girlfriend about 6 months ago, and I see my family monthly on average now.
Me and my girlfriend have never been on a proper holiday together, apart from having visited each others' home countries when we were long-distance, and we've been on a weekend break somewhere.
I am still close with my family and usually go away with them yearly. My girlfriend is hoping to go to a faraway destination this year, but the problem is, so are my family.
I know both holidays are going to be pretty expensive, and I'll require maybe 10 days off work each for both.
I only started my job recently, so I won't get a lot of holidays (at least, paid ones) for the first year.
My family keep asking if I'm going to come with them, and when I can book it. I really would like to, but I'm worried about affording that and the holiday with my girlfriend. I feel selfish, because I've moved away from them, and I don't want them to think I'm choosing my partner over them every time, when they do a lot of nice stuff for me.
I would really like to go with my girlfriend as well, but I don't even know if that's definite. She's not the type that likes to plan in advance, she just keeps saying "we'll see." I've already told her about my family's holiday, and she's invited to come with us, but she said no.
I know either way that one party are going to get hurt in this situation. I have no idea what to do. Thanks for any advice.
