My SO of 5 years and I are in our mid-late 20's, and about 1.5 years ago my SO told me that she had cheated on me 3years ago (form the time she told me) with a co-worker while we were doing long distance. She says that over the course of a few months tension had built between them and he kept insisting on going for a drink-- and she eventually gave in to that since she felt that our relationship wasn't going so well (with it being long distance at the time) and he was giving her positive attention. When they went out for that drink she ended up back at his place and in his bed. She said that she felt so guilty afterwards that she did not speak a word to him or look him in the eye for the remaining weeks she worked there. We no longer live anywhere near the ********* (he knew that she was in a long-term relationship but did not know who I was)
Anyway, 1.5 years after she told me this heart breaking event I found the OM on facebook. She claimed to only remember his first name, but I've found him and all the information checks out, and she confirmed that it was him based on the pictures.
It felt really strange to finally be able to put a face to the scum-bag accomplice in her horrible acts. My SO said it felt very confrontational to see his picture after all these years, and that it made her feel sick to her stomach.
Here's the thing, I'm not sure what to do now. I can't help but feel I need to serve this guy a cold plate of revenge. I want him to be tormented, to have his life ruined, to feel like he could lose everything at any moment.
Has anyone experienced anything similar with the OM/OW? If so, what did you do?
