After almost two years being out of work, my wife secured a position in a town which is an hour away. I told her to take this role up by all means, as this was necessary plus the opportunity is in a good company that too headquarters.
She had quit her last job, and moved with me across to world, and had been trying for a long long time for another chance.
For me, an hour distance is not a big problem specially when my current job often offers me flexibility to work at home. However, :scratchhead: t. I know it will be hard on her, and I know she is telling me to do it because its a good opportunity. On the other hand, me not taking it up makes her feel that due to her career am taking a compromise, which I am fine with, I will not compromise on her not taking her role up. We do not have kids yet and feel that these jobs will help us plan our future.
Have any of you been able to make a commuter marriage? Is looking at it for a 1 year period, possible?
