why do i develop a crush on any guy who gives me attention?

im a 18 yr old female and well i havent really had a father figure in my life (mum and dad split when i was 5 and my dad passed away when i was 13). any time a guy gives me attention (being nice to me etc) i develop a deep crush on them. i wonder if i love them at times. this has resulted in me having a crush on a guy every so often. its driving me crazy. how can i stop this? will i ever get over this attachment issue? grrr :(
