when there is no reasoning with partner...

Hi guys, previously posted a very long thread regarding my H, who I believe has deep rooted emotional problems he won't admit (over the past year or so he's distanced himself from my family - who are loving and have never fallen out with him). Over the last year we've stopped going out with any friends, he never wants to spend time with my family (only has his mum left who is several hours away, no problem there).

Things came to a standstill for me when he refused to partake in a mother's day lunch and has been vile since then - I went, but when home he accused me of "choosing family over him" - for the past almost 2 weeks I have slept in the spare room. Finally thought there was a breakthrough when he opened the door this morning and said "Tuesday 9pm" - instantly meaning I knew that he was ready to talk. I text him earlier saying my sister was coming to lunch and bringing her baby, that he could meet him (he's only 5 months old) but no problem if he was at work.

His response by text was that I was clearly trying to wage a war inviting my "moron" family over (WTF?) and clearly wanted to enrage him. He's angry and I don't know why.

He has major issues getting close to people long term and there is just no talking to him. I can't see rhyme nor reason why he refuses to see my family given there have never been any fights with them. He says he doesn't want to see them "just because" all defensive and childish.

Has anyone had any professional counselling for a similar situation? it's like he's going through some sort of emotional meltdown (I've come across BPD/passive/aggressive and abandonment issues and they all fit the bill!).

Still sleeping in the other room. I will wait this out until he's ready to talk but I'm sick of the abuse and silent treatment. It's like living with a small child who is never wrong.

Anyone please understanding any of this?!
