| The thread on Video Games and Marriage has inspired me to start a new thread about watching sports on TV. I have been weening myself off of watching sports on TV. It's not a conscious decision - I'm just tired of spending so much time sitting and watching it. I've been substituting watching sports on TV with doing actual activities, watching movies on Netflix, reading and surfing the net. When I was younger, I would watch football (NFL and CFB), MLB, NCAA basketball and NHL. From the time I was married in my early 20s thru today, I am down to watching NFL, NCAA FB and NCAA BB. And as 2012 - 2013, I started missing games for my NFL team and my NCAA BB alma maters. At the rate I'm going, I'm going to be hardly ever watching any sports within the next 2 years. The funny thing is that now when an NFL game comes on, I'm more inclined to watch it because my wife is interested in it. Overall, I think my wife is a little more interested in watching the NFL on TV than I am, which I find highly ironic based on the way I used to be. I think she grew more interested in the NFL in order to spend more time with me, and she has come to genuinely like it. She has her own favorite team - different from mine - and she wears their licensed products from time to time. Anyone else finding themselves losing interest in TV sports and doing different things as you get older? | |||
