So my friend recently revealed that she was sexually abused by her uncle when she was younger (the scumbag uncle is dead which is good but now she still has to live with the trauma of the event), and that she often gets horrible depression as a result of it. She has said that she would like someone she can cuddle up to and hold for comfort (holding hands and such) (I am the only person outside her parents who know she was sexually abused), and she would like me to be that person. I am more than happy to be that person but would like some advice please, is there any particular way I should hug her. I have been researching hugging techniques, however I am not sure whether there is an objectively better way to hug someone?
