How do you deal with a hard relationship?

I'm aware that its Christmas day, so sitting on TSR writing about my relationship is probably not the most festive thing I could be doing.

But anyway, my boyfriend and I have been having some difficulties in the past few months. Not major make-or-break difficulties, but serious enough problems to cause me to worry and think about our relationship- possibly i'm overthinking it.

We've been together for a year and a half now, and I've heard that its about this time that the 'honeymoon period' ends, and things can get tricky. It feels like we take each other for granted, despite us both knowing that what we have is very special. We're long distance you see (doesn't make it any easier). We're arguing a lot more than we've ever done (sometimes over very petty things, arguments usually started by myself and I don't really know why). I'm thinking a LOT about our future and pressurising myself into deciding whether we're going to spend the rest of our lives together- which I know I shouldn't be thinking about at nineteen years of age!!

It just feels like the arguments especially are putting a strain on our relationship. I love him very much and know we are lucky to have each other. He genuinely makes me happy but this relationship is more difficult than I thought! HAs anyone else experienced this? How do you deal with a hard relationship?
