As we approach the end of 2013 I get the feeling that it has only been about 6 weeks since the last New Year. I know that I have not been in hibernation and that the earth has continued to more around the sun at roughly the same speed but my perception of the passage of time has changed over the years.
As I speak to other people about this most have agreed that it "feels" as if time is passing more quickly.
I have a theory as to why this might appear to be so.
I think that we remember "new experiences" more intensely than we remember the "mundane" so when we are young and experiencing so many things for the first time we lay down more / deeper memories than we do as more mature people experiencing things again.
What do others think, have you got examples so this seaming "time compression" from your own lives you would like to share.
