HELP! Opinions on my marriage proposal idea needed!

This seemed like the most appropriate section to post this thread, sorry if it is not.

I need advice on my marriage proposal idea!

I'm planning on proposing to my soul mate in the very near future. We have discussed marriage, so the question of "will she say yes" or not is no longer a question.

So, here's the back story:

There is a mountain in my home state, where we live, that you can go searching/digging for crystals. The way you do it is by hiking around, high and low, for holes in the rock of varying sizes/depth, and scoop out the dirt with a long skinny "spoon" in hopes of scooping out a few crystals. This is one of my favorite places on earth. I shared it with her since her and I have very similar interests and she was just as in love with the hunt and location as I am. Although I have only been able to take her there with me once, it has become a pretty special place for us, being that I introduced her to this thing that I love, and she loved it just as much, and wants to go back badly.

Although there are a lot of really good proposal ideas on the internet, I wanted to do something completely unique, and this is what I came up with:

We will drive to the mountain, park the car, gear up, and hike up to the spot where I usually go, and where I took her before. We will scout around for a minute for a good area with a few promising holes to dig in. I will advise her to dig in a hole in one area, as I slowly make my way away from her, out of view, to another area close by, and find a hole big and deep enough to fit the ring in (encased in some sort of small container). Then Ill come over to her, tell her that I found a really promising hole, and have her dig in it, as I find a spot close by, and wait for her to pull the ring out, and as soon as she realizes what it is, get down on one knee and ask for her hand in marriage.

What do you think? Is this a stupid/cheesy idea? I tend to over think, and get insecure with my creativity. She has mentioned that she has always liked the idea of finding the ring, rather than the traditional method of pulling it out of my pocket and getting down on one knee. I guess I should mention that the kind of stone she wants in her engagement ring is a raw stone, so it is kind of relevant to the activity and location.

Please help! I don't really have anyone else to give me their unbiased opinion.

Thank you!
