Genetic issues/diseases, etc. passed down to kids...

So we have an adult son and on both sides mine and H's nothing too serious that could possibly be passed down to him. However H's mother has something called Essential Tremor she is in her late 70s and her hand shakes quite a bit. It does not stop her from doing anything major except maybe she would not be able to thread a needle or at a buffet somebody has to hold her plate and fill it up for her, etc. so little things like that. Now H who is in his 50s has it not as bad right now but just slight shakes...so that means that there is a 50% chance that son will develop it however it will probably be at least 20 years when he first starts noticing slight shaking of hands and it seems to kind of get worse as you get older.

I have never discussed with him but sometimes I wonder if is worried about getting it down the road. He wants to be a pilot so perhaps by the time he is in his late 50s/early 60s it might be a problem for him. But then I think often pilots do not fly anyway past 60.

There are worse things that someone can get thru familial genetics obviously but what I want to know is does anybody else kind of worry about their kids and stuff like this???
