Being that I am 44 and my husband is 28 I am in a unique position in that, baring some horrid accident, it will go without saying I'll be going first. Now of course I hope I have MANY MANY years left of course and exercise and try to keep in shape and all that, so it's not as if I plan on dropping dead tomorrow.
But I am curious if you have discussed with your spouse a "what if" scenario should you die and any plans/anything in particular you'd want, or have things ready should the time come.
This year I plan on drawing up a will. Of course I haven't thought up all the details yet, I do have a plot already and I do plan to leave what I have to my husband, adult daughter and my new baby once she is born.
With my husband we haven't had a real detailed discussion over it, but while in most cases the man passes first, obviously that's very unlikely in my case. It was something we did talk about and he said he doesn't care and just wants to be with me as long as he can :)
But regardless, this year after I draw up my will I will have a lengthy discussion over it.
Again, sorry if this seems quite grimm but it is something that I think spouses should discuss.
