I don't fancy my awesome girlfriend.

  • Thread Starter

Hey. I've joined TSR specifically to get some advice on this so please don't let me down!

I'm 27 and I've been seeing and sleeping with a girl for a few months now. She's awesome for me - she has a good job, she's an agnostic / atheist, she likes politics, philosophy, science, cooking, good food, wine and playing computer games. For a nerd like me, personality-wise she is a unicorn.

HOWEVER.

(Slightly graphic bit) I just don't fancy her at all. She has a pretty face but she is pretty overweight and I find it difficult to climax when I have sex with her. To be perfectly honest, I find her body unattractive - to put the arbitrary attraction figure to it I would say for me she's a 4 out of 10 body-wise.

And now for the bit where even more people might call me a horrible douchebag for assigning attractiveness ratings to women:

I'm not hugely sexually experienced (bit of a late-blooming geek) however I've had a girlfriend who I WAS attracted to for 2 years (probably a 7/10), and have slept with 6 women, 3 of whom who in my eyes are 9/10. To me this says I am attractive enough to attract women I consider beautiful (i.e. attractive to me). Make sense? I'm short (only 5'7'';) but fairly handsome; I'm probably about 7/10 for short girls, 6/10 for average to tall girls.

No other girl has come close to having as much in common with me as the girl I'm seeing at the moment.

So here is my dilemma. Do I break up with someone who's personality is perfect for me but from whom I don't get tingles when I kiss her? Do I try to find a girl who is both attractive to me AND perfect personality wise? Or do I stay with the girl who is basically a perfect personality match and just think of my ex's / Deborah Ann Woll from Daredevil (oh my god) when we have sex?

Please help me, people of the internet. I'm getting pretty anxious / depressed about this.
