This is the mindset of the people who decide the curriculum at our schools. Watch the quick youtube video and cringe along with me if you so desire.:)
Youtube-Teacher admits he helped write Common Core to end white privilege
Teachers(by and large) have become contemptible in the states. Many earnestly believe it's their place to indoctrinate, or as they would call it "enlighten" students into their own personal(liberal) world view. You're not here to "shape hearts and minds" you narcissist, you're here to teach basic life skills so they(students) hopefully won't be forced to go dumpster diving for something of sustenance.
This profession seems to draw a lot of needy people who just want to hold sway over others. I personally put teachers in the same category most place politicians and clergymen in, those kind of people who love to pretend they have this "higher calling" in life, when the reality is most of them are not "called" to do anything, it's just a job, they tried and failed at something else so now they're doing this.
I don't loathe all teachers mind you, there are some who go to work, do there job and don't expect a ticker tape parade to be thrown in their honor or constantly prattle on about their profession like there these martyrs sacrificing themselves "for the children."
