| Anon or delete. Ok, so I'm 16 and in my first year of college, and I'm a lesbian. I'm already out to most of the people I'm close to outside of my family, and I'm planning to be out to everyone I know soon. I know that most of my friends will accept it. Anyway, one problem is the fact that a lot of the girls I hang around with at college are Asian Muslims, most which wear the Hijab (headscarf). I know that homosexuality is forbidden within Islam, but as I am not a Muslim (I'm white British) how will they feel about having a lesbian friend? I would just not come out to them as there's only one or two that are actually close friends, but I want to eventually be out to my entire college, so obviously they'd find out about it. I sometimes feel like I'm being judged by the ones that I'm not as close to as it is, as I'm usually the only white girl in a group of Asians. Also I feel like this makes me stand out from the group and fit in less as it is, wit hout being openly gay too. So yeah, what should I do? |
