So it is pretty clear at the moment that my wife and I are committed to staying together and working through my indiscretions. I picked up "The Five Love Languages" and read it along with other material. We took the quiz at the end of the book and my wife scored highest in acts of service and quality time as her secondary love language.
As for me, I scored highest in physical touch and quality time as secondary...which we have in common. Since we have that as a common ground, that might be a good place to start. I've got the acts of service down for her as I always will get things for her, make her coffee, load/unload the dishwasher when she's tired, close up the chickens whenever I can...stuff like that. My challenge is going to be getting her to "speak" my primary given the fact that I really made a mess of our marriage and totally destroyed her trust in me. I will need to remain patient, focus on our common "quality time" together, and work on my issues. Over time, hopefully, she will see that I am committed to repairing our relationship and perhaps then...We'll get there. :)
