If someone on your spouses side of the family passes away..not a close close relation but an aunt, uncle, etc. Do you feel compelled to attend with your spouse especially if there is travel involved? H's aunt passed away so looks like the funeral is on Saturday about three hours south of here. H is back on shift up north has to go up tomorrow for a week so he figures he will fly down that day from where he is working and then fly up that evening right to the city where the funeral is.
I do not feel compelled to go..yes it is MIL's sister but I did not know her I think I might have seen her about 10 years ago at a wedding but other than that...H last saw her I think about 6 years ago at another funeral.
