Why do women do it?

I'm trying to give my son solid advice about red flags in a budding relationship and it occurred to me that the people of CWI could answer this best. Other than a personality disorder, what is the number one reason women cheat in their marriage? Attention, affection, etc. but what traits or pre marriage events are the things that lead to a cheater? Thoughts?
