Confidence is not "She will like me." Confidence is "I'll be fine whether she likes me or not."
"She will like me" is fear-based, egotistical, self-absorbed, and conceited. It manifests as try-hard and insecure behaviour that yields poor results in relationships.
"I'll be fine either way," is content, calm, cool, and confident. It manifests as a comfortable and safe presence that yields beneficial results in relationships, and attraction.
