Recently it's become apparent that one of my male friends has feelings for me. He told me this directly for the first time last night, via facebook message. He didn't tell me exactly how strong his feelings are but I get the impression that they're quite intense- he's been acting strangely towards me for quite some time- texting every day, telling me i'm "his type" and asking me if i'm seeing anyone etc.
While I care about and value this guy as a good friend, I simply don't see him in a romantic/sexual light. There is no sexual attraction or feeling there on my behalf- never has been.
Where do I go from here? How do I let him down gently? Obviously i'm not going to lie to him or give him false hope because that wouldn't be fair and I have nothing to gain from that. Equally, I don't want to hurt him or lose him as a friend.
Can you remain friends with someone who's admitted their feelings for you or is that a bad idea? We're on the same course at uni so we're going to have to interact with each other either way
Put the internet to work for you.
