I met a guy on a night out (awful way to meet someone I know!) he's a friend of a friend of a friend and we got chatting made out a little then walked part way back together and exchanged numbers. We met up for coffee last week and I felt we had a nice time but it was definitely in the getting to know you stage and there wasn't really any flirting going on. He's not my normal "type" but I've not had the best experiences with guys so maybe someone who isn't almost a carbon copy of every guy I've had some sort of relationship with would be a good thing! He text me straight after saying good to see me again, added me on Facebook and I replied with pretty much the same. He texted again the late the next day just to say hey but I didn't see my phone (completely scatterbrained) until the day after and was really busy at a meeting so I couldn't look at my phone all day so there was only a very brief conversation and I guess it must seem like I'm not interested.
I've never done the whole meet a random person and get to know them with the possible intention of something happening between you both, in the past I've only been involved with guys who are friends/I've known a while. I want to get to know him better before deciding if there's anything there (that's normal right? I would think he would think the same?) I want to contact him again so he knows I wasn't just dismissing him the other day but at the same time I don't want to be overly keen (as honestly I do not know him well enough and I'm not sure how much we have in common after an hour or 2 chatting, he seems really into the party lifestyle whilst I'm panicking over all my deadlines over the next month!). Really hate the whole playing games with texts but at the same time is there merit in just waiting to see if someone contacts you, it seems like a cop-out!
I'm rambling/overthinking.
