$12M per month to Brazilian farmers by the US government

I keep hearing from my conservative friends that the government is the problem and that we should make it on our own. American farmers, voting in a large majority for the Republican party, do not seem to get off government welfare even if they have never been so rich as in recent years.

For the past 2 years the American tax payer had to not only subsidize the cotton farmers, but also the Brazilian ones, simply because some republican law makers could not stand to lobbyists!

Now the farm bill is stuck because no Republican wants to include the food stamp program in it. Of course the only reason the farm bill was passed in the first was because the food stamp program was in it, allowing the representatives from urban areas to support it.

Where is the logic?
