Is this an EA?

BF has recently confessed that he has been talking sexually with another woman for a few weeks. He came clean without having to pull teeth. He explained that they had spoken on the phone multiple times and had the intention of having sex. He never went through with the plan and told me about it. He ended all contact with her and let her know he made a mistake. She has tried contacting him but he hasn't answered. He told me he didn't even know her and it was purely sexual. He apologized and said he was ashamed of himself for mistreating me and not telling me he loved me enough. Not sure if this is an EA or what is it? Right now I'm having a really hard time trusting him and not sure what to do. He's very open and honest about what happened and I can tell he's remorseful. It's just me who just can't seem the shake the feeling that it might happen again. Ever since he confessed I can tell he's feeling better that he no longer has this secret. He's ready to continue our relationship, but I just don't know if I am. I love him and don't want to lose him but I'm having terrible trust issues.
