thoughts about dating a guy younger than you?

Ok so there's this guy I really like, I mean REHEHEHEALLLY LIKE (how DR Cox says :)) Anyway, back to this, he is 2 years younger than me, I'm 18 going on 19 he's 16 going on 17. Any thoughts about whether he would be a good person to date? I know that generally younger guys aren't as mature but I'm not looking for anything major serious, though saying that, I certainly wouldn't object if things became more serious... Oh and just to add, there's the whole friend issue, he's my friend but I don't want to make things awkward by telling him and then being rejected, if he told me there's no way I wouldn't say anything other than yes!!! :)
