My mom passed in 2013 after a slow decline due to Alzheimer's. My H doesn't really do Mother's Day things. He took our daughter out shopping and bought me some plants which are sitting on the front porch for me to plant. That's the same thing as last year and the year before that.
My H has asked me a few times today if I want to do anything today. That's it. That's my Mother's Day.
I know I need to make my own Mother's Day, but I just need to say that he is not sending a good message to our kids about how to appreciate your parents.
