This is not something I have taken the time to google -as I normally do..
Easter day gathered around talking to the family... Health care came up...2 of our relatives basically refuse to go to the Doctor for anything or even get screened (unless it seems life altering suddenly)- saying if they find anything, it will become a Pre-existing condition, their Insurance will go sky high or they won't be able to get it at all...
Then Husband jumped in adding most of the guys he works with will not take the free screening tests that comes around twice a year for this reason also....(he does get it ...there is Type II on his Dad's side of the family ....though his dad we think never had it )...he never went to the Doc either most of his life..but all of his siblings got it later in life & took metformin...
Another lady I know, seems everyone in her family has joint problems, starting as early as their 20's... many surgeries... including herself....I guess a Doctor told her she might have ____________ some rare genetic condition...there is a test she could get ....then warned her...if they learned this , she would never be able to get insurance again...
The Unfairness of this !@#$% What do people do ??....Forgo any pre-screening tests so they won't lose their insurance...
Then I look around...and it seems some are plagued with debilitating diseases... and everything is covered... then others saying they lost their insurance, can't get it... you see those having to collect donations to pay for Cancer treatments..
How do people manage this?...this has to be a minefield question with Obamacare.. I am not up on any of it...
If you could share your experiences or what you know relating to these issues... I would appreciate it... Thank you.
