He never says goodbye

There is a guy I like who comes out with a mutual group of friends. People says he is crazy about me and he has confided this is in one of his friend's. He rarely talks to the others and will speak to 1 or 2 people and me. I do get the feeling he likes me, he lives 50 miles away and will come everytime we all go out. The thing is whenever I go to the toilet or bar he will leave and not say goodbye, I then realise he has gone home. If he likes me so much why come all that way and then at the end not say bye, it makes me feel like I'm not worth saying goodbye too.
