| Right! You are having a dinner party. Which four people would you choose to have dinner with? Who would you like to be the waiter or waitress? And why. Can be dead, alive, real or fictional. Captain Lawrence Oates One of my Grandads Sherlock Holmes Alan Turing Waiter, Prince Charles. Captain Oates because I'd like to see what makes a man tick that he could perform such a heroic, selfless act to try to save his friends. And I sometimes wonder if I could ever be man enough to do the same One of my Grandads because I have never met them and part of me misses that I never had a Grandad. I think it is partly why I try to be a good Grandad and get such pleasure from the Grandchildren. Sherlock Holmes because I'd love to hear how he solved his cases, and I'd like him to turn his analytical eye on me. And I'm a great admirer of his (fictional) mind. Alan Turing because I'd love to talk to someone who was undoubtedly responsible for pushing forward the computer age. And what a mind, the only problem is that he would leave me in the dust with his intelligence. What a shame he wasn't born in an age where your sexuality mattered less to people. Prince Charles well I'd just like him to have a turn at bowing and scraping for a change. I'd love to order him around and tell him what a pillock he is! | |||
