When will people finally understand that the gender pay gap is NO WHERE near as big as it is believed to be. It falls behind the 10%... and even then, there is proof as to why it exists.
It comes down to life choices women and men make. Men tend to choose more demanding and highly paid jobs, whereas women tend to choose a lower paid career.
Why is it so much to do about WHAT YOU ARE rather than WHAT YOU DO??
"Well gender probably plays an indirect role (females allot their times differently than men often by CHOICE) in modern societies.
When gender pay gap is properly measured it invariably falls below 7%.
The 7% is explained by jobs that have a pay that is non linear with respect to time spent on the job. In these jobs, gender doesn't play a direct role. Gender plays a role in the choice of allotting time.
It is sad to see that the way gender pay gap is measured is ridiculous (difference of the average salary of men and women). If one recalculates properly the gap, you do not get such huge numbers..."
