My friend asked me for advice and I literally have no idea what to tell her. She's been with the same guy for as long as me and Tyler have been together and a few years ago her and her bf were at a party and her bf was super drunk and they went inside for something and he wanted a quickie in the bathroom but she was bleeding so she said no but he tried to come on to her anyway so she pushed him away (probably pretty hard) and then he slapped her right in the face and walked outside and acted like nothing happened. So she walked home and the next day tried to break up with him and he got all slobbery crying and swore it was the alcohol and he didn't remember doing it. But there was no mark on her face and her boyfriend is just such a sweetheart to everyone that she never told anyone. He never hit her after that even when they would get into super heated fights so she kinda just brushed it off.
Anyway, they dated for a long time after that and everything was fine but then she said right after they got married he was just always ****ty towards her. Like if they were going somewhere and he wanted roadhead but she didn't want to he would give her the silent treatment until she did it. He's always very nice and social around his friends and family but anytime they were out he never even looked in her direction unless it was to ***** at her for something like if her clothes had cleavage or her shorts were too short. Then he'd go right back to ignoring her like she wasn't even there. Then she said he just started being super mean to her when they were alone, just putting her down any chance he got and he would call her a psycho if she tried to tell him her feelings were hurt.
Buut all that was something she was fine living with since she married him. She's like me and doesn't believe in divorces at all. What I want your opinion on is if she should just leave him anyway. Last weekend they got home after a late night and he said he was coming to bed or something and he started playing video games so she was nagging him because they had to be up early to visit his family. Then he died on his game from being distracted and he got right in her face and started screaming about how she's such a ***** so she got mad and pushed him. When she pushed him he was holding a glass and some of the water in it spilled out on him so he got mad and went to fling the rest of the water in her face but accidentally let go of the cup and it broke everywhere by her feet.
When she told him to sweep away a section so she could walk past he told her it was her fault so he wasn't going to clean her mess. He then went upstairs and she waited for him but he never came so she jumped over it but still got a few pieces of glass stuck in her foot. Then when she was cleaning it up she was crying cus he hurt her feelings and he came back down to get his phone and seen her crying and started screaming at her saying she was an alcoholic and that she was being drunk and psycho (crazy part is they seriously weren't drinking)
and she just ignored him and got up and started to walk upstairs and he grabbed her leg and pulled her onto the floor and when she tried to get up he grabbed her neck and started sqeezing it but he's stupid so she wasn't choking it just hurt from his hands and she yelled at him to get off and he LITERALLY said "shut up noone can hear you down here!" Like that's such a ****ing crazy thing to say! Then when she stopped trying to reach up at him he let go of her neck but just stayed on top of her and when she went to sit up he pulled her towards him and then out of nowhere slammed the side of her body and face into the floor. Which was a concrete basement. Then he got up and ran upstairs and said he was going to take pictures of a scratch on his neck and tell everyone how much of a crazy drunk she is.
He was being really mean saying he didn't want her anyway and a bunch of **** and then when he was about to go to sleep he finally said he was sorry but kept reminding her that she started it. Then the next morning all she kept thinking about was the time he slapped her at that party and how the next day he acted so sorry, except this time he obivously didn't care. This was only like last weekend and she's got cuts on her foot from little pieces of glass which isn't really a big deal, but she has super obvious finger bruises on her neck, a bruise on the side of her face, and her arms both have finger bruises with two big welts on the arm that was pushed into the floor. And since bruises tend to look worse as they're healing, it looks so bad right now.
He sees those bruises everyday.. and knows he did it.. but doesn't say anything. When she did mention it the next day he said it was because she bruises easily. If I treated my girl like that I'd be apologizing everytime I seen her. And his dad asked her about the bruises and he jumped right in and made something up for her.
She's not afraid of him or anything but she doesn't want to be with someone who is so mean to her. But she can't just leave him because they're married. And she's never told anyone anything bad about him EVER so if she were to tell anyone anything noone would ever believe her. And she's a pretty heafty girl so noone would think he could even manhandle her if he tried.
She asked me what to do but I really don't know what to even say.
She's 21 and he's 25, they've only been married a year but they've been together exclusively for five.
