I see this in so many relationships, hell even i get caught in the trap occasionally but I try to avoid it: People adamantly try their hardest to not get along.
What do I mean? Say, a wife doesn't like it when her husband takes his pants off and just leaves them on the floor. They should go in the hamper! Or something. Ok then, well she could either A) just pick the pants up herself if it bothers her so much or B) just ignore the issue and let the pants stay there.
But no no, neither of those options are good, and its suddenly "Let's have a big huge fight about the pants on the floor!"
Sure, the husband could try not leaving his pants on the floor, but also, she could try not being a bee why tee see H about it. Wouldn't it be so much easier to just let it go?
Substitute "pants on the floor" with whatever little pet peeves people have.
