Never been in this situation before...

Basically, I am normally the sort of girl who is too preoccupied with books and her degree to contemplate relationships. However, there was this guy in one of my seminar groups and I felt something straight away. I told myself to stop being so stupid and get on with my work, but I couldn't help but feel a happy warm feeling every time we had a conversation or had a laugh together. Anyway, I went out to celebrate the end of exams with my friends and saw this guy in the nightclub- we danced and then got off a bit, then he walked me back to halls and we swapped numbers. I texted him the day after and he sent a nice one back- so I replied and haven't heard anything back. If he'd considered the night before a drunken mistake, surely he'd have just ignored my text? The trouble is I don't know whether to send another text now (but I don't want to send two in a row) or to try and get over it and find something else over the summer to distract my mind from everything, like finding another job etc. I am worried I might be a victim of unrequited love.
