We all live in different parts of the globe where the flora and fauna is quite unique based on the climate. so , I just thought I'd start another pics thread where you can post pics of indigenous flowers, fruit trees , fruits , insects , birds ,animals , fish , pets or any living thing that's unique to your part of the world ,or just unique, along with a little explanation. It would also be nice if those pics were shot by you ,but if not, feel free to post anyway! I'll start. As the name implies, I'm in the Caribbean. lots of flora and fauna down here. Pic #1] Xora Flower. When I was a boy, we used to pick these flowers and suck its nectar through its stem. Really sweet! Pic#2]I think this is called an Angel's Trumpet flower. Its golden in colour , and its long like a trumpet.This is a very popular flower and it can be found growing wild. Pic#3] Pink Verigated Hibiscus. Another popular flower. Long ago, girls used to put them in their hair.They can be any colour you can think of. There are hundreds of different varieties. Pic#4] Another Variety of the Hibiscus Flower. Pic#5]I'm not quite sure of the name of this one, but I think we call it the Crab Apple flower. It smells extremely sweet and its scent fills the morning and evening air. It's actually a fruit that grown on a large tree. Pic#6]This one is a fruit. Its called Tamarind. I'm not sure how many of you have ever tasted it, but it has a sweet & sour flavour and is used to make juice. The juice taste something like Cranberry juice. Pic #6] Heliconia. One of the most beautiful flowers one could ever see.There are many, many different varieties of this beautiful flower, and each one is distinct and unique. No one variety looks like the other.They can be cultivated or found in the forests. One word of caution though, whenever you see these beautiful flowers in the forests, beware, poisonous snakes also like them. Ok.
