| So there is a "Planet Fitness" near me.... I've been thiking about joining a club and it would be convenient. I see they have them everywhere. I know nothing about them. I walk in..about 7:00 at night on my way home. The place is fairly busy.. I see they have a ton of equipment. I'm like... 'ok. Sign me up.' The bubbly little thing behind the desk smiles and says 'OK!' and takes out a contract and starts reading me some standard babble about 'no judgemental..blah blah..' I tell her fine, but sorry - Im not signing any contract. I am happy to pre-pay a year or 2 for your 'black card' membership so I can use the other clubs in the area, but Im not giving you access to my checking account - and I dont want a recurring charge on my credit card. Her response: 'sorry. we cant do that.' me: 'really? seriously? you wont take my money?" her: "sorry. we cant do that." So - they wont even take the money I am trying to shovel at them? All they care about it the ability to clamp onto me with some form of recurring charge? Crazy. We already have a family membership to the Y... which is OK.. maybe I will just go there to get rolling. Are all health clubs like this? Maybe I am simply better off somewhere else.. but like I said they seem to have lots of them around so would be nice - such as both near my work and near my house.
