Does this sound like I'm just an option?

Hi there I like this guy told him but he didn't feel same way. Have since found out that he likes someone else and has tried to ask her for coffee 3 times to which she has said: may be, not really and third time no response. She's either playing a very good game of playing very hard to get or she's not interested. I think it's the latter. Opinions? I have also been hanging with this guy alot more- as he hangs in the same friendship circle as me and we've been hanging out one on one. Does it sounds like I'm just an option?? Thoughts are most welcome!:) Thanks
